The Mouses HouseRainforest Retreat

This month one of our guests shared with us a pic they had found showing The Mouse’s House main house under construction back in 1985.
The vision of the smiling faces of Stephanie and Nicholas Black playing in the creek just outside the build site brings to mind all that has changed around here, as well as all that has stayed the same. And for good reason.
Peaceful and surrounded by nature, the Gold Coast Hinterland offers some of the most breathtaking views and an escape from city life. While most of us have found that our days are packed full of more than ever, the Mouse’s House offers simplicity and a chance to experience peace and quiet that soothes the soul.
Warmth by the fireplace, good old-fashioned home-cooked meals, and real conversations. Enjoying the simple pleasures, taking things slowly, and the beauty of the world around us. In the last 40 years since we opened our doors in 1978, this has stayed the same.
The word “retreat” has never been so important. While we get our fair share of adventurers, holidaymakers, and those celebrating special occasions, in recent times we have become more of an oasis where couples or friends can get away from it all. Responsibilities, stress, being in demand at all hours… all of this melts away when your home for the night is an enchanted rainforest.
A private chalet in the rainforest doesn’t mean being cut off from modern day conveniences. Use our free high-speed WiFi and the chalet iPad Mini. HD LCD TV's, stereo system, clock radio with iPod/iPhone docking port, and stainless steel kitchen appliances. Multi-Media console for instant movies on-demand from our 130+ library. Sony PS3 console with Blu-Ray DVD player. Complimentary PS3 games available on request. Plus a DeLonghi Coffee Machine 'Dolce Gusto' to top it all off.
The best of the old and the new? That's The Mouse's House Rainforest Retreat.
This month we found out that one of our chalets had been featured on the @cabinlove Instagram page...
And had attracted a whopping 11,007 likes and over 70 comments.
